If you're in crisis right now
We're not a replacement for emergency support. If you're having a serious urge, financial crisis, or suicidal thoughts, please reach out directly: 1-800-GAMBLER (US), 0808 8020 133 (UK GamCare), 0800 1 372 700 (Germany BZgA), or 988 for crisis support (US). You're not alone.
Common questions
Your streak starts the day you set as your "clean date" during onboarding. It increases by one each day at midnight in your local time zone. If you relapse, you can reset your streak from Profile → Reset Streak — but you keep your level history, your money saved total, and your "best streak" record. We don't erase your progress; we just start counting again.
During onboarding, you tell us roughly how much you were spending on gambling per week or per month. We divide that into a daily figure and add it to your savings total for every clean day. You can update your weekly amount any time from Profile → Recovery Plan → Edit Spending — the counter recalculates from your current streak forward.
The six levels — Seed → Sprout → Growth → Bloom → Flourish → Transcend — are time-based milestones. Seed is your first day. Sprout at 7 days. Growth at 30 days. Bloom at 90 days. Flourish at 180 days. Transcend at 365 days. Each level unlocks new badges and community recognition. The progression is purely time-based, not money-based — earning recovery isn't a thing you can buy.
Premium ($9.99/month or $59.99/year) unlocks: full community access (free tier is read-only after 30 days), unlimited meditation sessions, the site & app blocker, AI coach chats, accountability partner matching, and advanced analytics. The streak counter, money tracker, urge blocker, and basic community access are free forever. You can quit gambling without paying us a cent.
Subscriptions are managed through Apple. On your iPhone, open Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions → GamQuit → Cancel. You'll keep premium access until the end of your current billing period. We can't cancel on your behalf — only you can from your Apple ID — but if you're stuck, email support@gamquit.com and we'll walk you through it.
Refunds are handled by Apple under their published policy. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com — Apple is usually generous, especially if you contact them within a week of the charge. We genuinely don't have the ability to issue App Store refunds ourselves.
Yes. We don't sell data, we don't share it with advertisers, and we don't track you across other apps. The only people who see your community posts are other GamQuit users, and only under the display name you chose. Read the full Privacy Policy for specifics — it's written in plain language, no legalese games.
First: a relapse is not a failure of you as a person. It's a data point in a long recovery, and almost everyone in the GamQuit community has been here. Open the app, log the relapse honestly from Profile → Reset Streak, and consider reaching out in the community — there's almost always someone awake who gets it. If you're in crisis, please call a helpline (numbers in the Terms page).
Yes, completely. Go to Profile → Settings → Delete Account and confirm. Your account, streak history, community posts, and onboarding answers are permanently deleted within 30 days. Backups are purged within 90 days. If the in-app option ever fails, email privacy@gamquit.com with "Delete my account" in the subject and we'll handle it within 7 days.
On the sign-in screen, tap "Forgot password?" and we'll email you a reset link. Check your spam folder too — recovery emails sometimes land there. If the email never arrives, email support@gamquit.com from the address you signed up with and we'll get you back in.
Right now, GamQuit is iOS-only (iPhone and iPad). Android is on our roadmap — if you want to be notified when it launches, drop your email at android@gamquit.com with subject "Android waitlist."
GamQuit was built by someone who's been through gambling addiction personally — and a small team that cares deeply about getting this right. The full founder story is coming later this year. For now: we're real, we're small, and we built this because the tools that existed weren't good enough.
Still stuck?
Send a detailed email to support@gamquit.com with:
- The email address on your account
- Your device and iOS version (Settings → General → About)
- What you tried, what happened, and a screenshot if useful
We're a small team. We don't outsource support. Whoever replies will actually be on the GamQuit team and will actually try to fix it.
The thing about recovery is — you don't have to do any of this alone. Not the app, not the urges, not the work. Reach out.
